The Week In ReviewNovember 6, 2005
It's been quite a week. So much so that I decided to do a weekly wrap
up.
Harry Reid took everyone by suprise when he demanded a closed session of the Senate to address pre-war Iraq Intelligence. It did not surprise me one bit that Senator Bill Frist, the man currently under investigation by the SEC for insider trading accused Democrats of having "no convictions". As was joked about on the Stephanie Miller radio program, this is because the Republicans currently have all the convictions and the indictments (ba dump bump). Another good joke on the Stephanie Miller show went something like this: "Quick, someone give GW Bush a blow job so we can impeach him!"..(ba dump bump). Then news broke that the United States is running Soviet style gulags in Eastern Europe: Bush 'operating secret gulag in eastern Europe' American gulag The CIA’s global gulag Torture: It's the new American way ‘Gulag’ leak from CIA men As you have probably heard Senators in the United States lead by John McCaine have been moving to ban torture of detainees. This prompted Dick Cheney to deliver a message to the Senate on behalf of the Bush Administration that any bill containing anti-torture legislation would be vetoed by GW Bush. When the news hit that America was running global gulags Cheney felt compelled to defend America's "Right" to torutre: Cheney Privately Asked GOP Senators For CIA Exemption To Proposed Torture Ban... Cheney pleads for a little torture As if that wasn't enough more evidence mounted that the American People were lied to in order to sell the Bush Administration's war on Iraq: To Justify War, Administration Pushed Claims By Known “ “Fabricator”... Cheney Claimed Iraq Was Providing WMD Training To Al-Qaeda Months After Source Recanted Bush, Cheney, and Powell Repeatedly Pushed False Evidence To Justify War As if that wasn't enough...But the news did not stop there. The Heretik's article Search And Destroy we learn that the FBI Using 'Patriot Act' Spies On 30,000 Citizens A Year FBI Patriot Act plan concerns lawmakers The FBI's Secret Scrutiny But the news didn't stop there, oh no...It kept on rolling right in to South America: Protests Against Bush Argentines eye the US with suspicion Mass continental protest march against Bush Anti-Bush protest clashes in
Argentina and Uruguay mar opening of Americas Summit
As if this wasn't enough news already... A Tornado hits Indiana and Kentucky But wait there's still more. Looks like Joe Biden might sell out the DNC once again: Biden Says Democrats Unlikely to Block Vote on Alito Nomination Thanks Joe! Well at least some Republicans are starting to stand up to the Bush Thugs: Hagel: Torture Exemption Would Be Mistake And don't forget to watch out for Pirates! It's not the end of the world yet but it sure is starting to feel like it! |
